While planning your visit to Cape Girardeau, please review our policies below. Then, make reservations with us for the Historic Kage School Guest Cottage.
Privacy Policy: We respect the privacy of our guests. We will not share your email address or personal information with anyone.
Reservations: Reservations may be secured in advance with a credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Traveler’s Checks, personal checks, and cash for deposits and final payments. We can also invoice you for your reservation so you may pay directly from your bank account online. Reservations may be made by sending us an email (info@hetzelproperties.net) or by calling our office at 1-800-270-7198. The maximum number of guests per bedroom is two. All guests must be registered.
Security Deposits: For reservations of seven (7) days or more a refundable $250 security deposit is required. All security deposits will be refunded or credited back to the guest within seven (7) days of their departure providing there are no damages and/or cleaning fees or unpaid rent.
Cancellations: The Historic Kage School Guest Cottage is a small property where every guest reservation is important to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please contact us at least five (5) days prior to your scheduled arrival for a 100% refund. Cancellations received less than five days prior to your arrival date will result in a 50% refund. Cancellations received within 24 hours of your arrival date are nonrefundable. Holidays and holiday weekends require a seven (7) day cancellation notice for a refund. Early departures will be charged for the full amount of the original reservation. Reservations for extended stays of thirty (30) or more are nonrefundable once guests have arrived and taken occupancy of the Guest Cottage.
Fees: Reservations for less than 30 days are subject to a 7.975% sales tax and a local 4% hotel/motel tax.
Check-in time is 4:00 -6:00 p.m. If you plan to arrive early, please feel free to enjoy the outdoor areas until the cottage is prepared. For arrivals after 6:00 p.m., please make arrangements with our staff. We prefer to have a member of our staff meet you upon your arrival to ensure all of your guest needs are addressed; however, we can arrange for you to have access to the Cottage if you are arriving late.
Check out time is 11:00 a.m. Please feel free to enjoy the outdoor areas, but in order to give the rooms the proper attention you and all other guests deserve, all guests must check-out by 11:00 a.m. on the morning of your departure. Late check-outs require prior arrangements or a late check-out fee of 25% will be applied.
Smoking: The Historic Kage School Guest Cottage is a non-smoking property. We are a completely smoke-free property indoors as well as outdoors. There is a $250 cleaning/restoring fee for breaking this policy, and violators will be asked to leave immediately.
Damages: The Historic Kage School Guest Cottage has been richly restored and furnished with upscale amenities. Replacement or repairs for damages to the property and/or furnishings caused by neglect or abuse of guests or their invitees will be the financial responsibility of the guest(s).
Children: Although we adore children, the Historic Kage School Guest Cottage is designed for an adult clientele. For youth under the age of 10, please inquire with our office. The Historic Kage School Guest Cottage is not "childproof," and parents have full and sole responsibility to monitor and safeguard children at the property.
Housekeeping: The Historic Kage School Guest Cottage is a self-catering property. There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate.
The Cottage will be clean upon arrival and will be cleaned after departure of guests. The Cottage will be set up with fresh bed linens, bath towels, and some toilet paper when you arrive. Unless otherwise arranged, you are responsible for additional toiletries needed during your stay as well as any mid-stay cleaning such as taking out the trash, washing dishes, and washing the provided linens. Upon departing, guests are expected to remove all personal property, food and trash from the premises.
Additional housekeeping services are available upon request for an additional fee.
Pets: We love animals and even do animal rescues, but we do not have accommodations for your pets. Several local veterinarians will lodge pets. Violators will be asked to leave and charged any necessary cleaning fees. For those with allergies, please note there are no owner pets on the property.
